Hey there! I am at the library in my local town looking through the most gorgeous window, at trees, leaves, and all the signs of spring! Yes, I see a pink tree and it makes me smile so incredibly big! Ugh! I love Spring!
I am delighted to be at the library because my daughter, 12 years old is taking crochet lessons. Wow! A lost art. I have no sewing background at all. I am so happy she is able to explore this art and see where it takes her!
It feels quite comfortable writing here in the library. It reminds me of my good old college days. So, let's get into it my dear reader. The Hurting Place!
My brother passed away a little over 6 months ago. My dear reader, My body has taken a physical toll and I know that grief can do that. The saying goes that grief will take time and that it has to run its course. I agree that everyone is different and everyone's body is different as well. In my case, I need SUPPORT!
I encourage anyone whom I work with and know to get support in times of trouble.
You see my dear reader, when we are hurting for whatever reason; someone has died, the loss of a job, a divorce, or health problems with our children, we may develop what I call a " Hurting Place." It is a place so deep inside of us that physical manifestations pop up in the body, as a signal to say, "take a look at me, I need healing!" This pain is on a spiritual level, and no amount of medical science can "make it all better!"
This hurting place deep inside of us may affect our relationships, health, energy levels, and so on................
I believe, after much therapy and life coaching of my own, It is our responsibility to BE FRIENDS with this hurting place. We are invited to love on it, cradle it, and hold it. In my experience, I know this hurting place to be a portal, an invitation to allow Jesus to heal us, be in a relationship with us, and bring us to another growth point, and or mission here on earth.
My dear reader, don't be scared of the hurting place. I will try not to as well! I know that I have to take my hurting place and allow it to take me on my next adventure.
I want my next adventure to be a place of ALIVENESS after being SAD for so long!
The Hurting Place!
Trust the hurting place and allow Jesus to walk with you IN IT, TO IT, and THROUGH IT!
The Hurting Place!
As humans, we have the sensation to push away and run away from the process of going through the hurting place.
I say TRUST THE PROCESS! (Like I am really going to try my reader! It is tough!)
Honestly, after my brother died, all I experienced for the last 6 months was stomach problems, depression, anxiety, news of high cholesterol, and thyroid issues. Not to mention a broken heart. Oh yeah, I am getting that looked at too!
But..... I believe all of this to be an invitation for Jesus to take my hand and walk with me as I go toward my REBOOT!
A REBOOT!
Why yes! We reboot all the time my dear reader so that we can serve God and be used as his instrument for good!
We can get so weary at times but he truly wants to carry us through this weariness and give us a REBOOT!
I trust Jesus for a reboot! Do you?
Jesus will take our hand, lead us, and guide us.
The question is will we listen to him?
I want to listen to him my dear reader and get reboots in this life so that I can continue to serve while I am here. I also want to experience and ENJOY life on earth while I am still ALIVE!
So, here we are, finally arriving at the 7 steps that one can do to partner with God's Holy Spirit to heal the hurting place!
1.) Get quiet!
We need to start to settle our minds and allow space for quiet. Without this space, we cannot hear from God. What distractions can you declutter so that you have space to get quiet?
2.) Read!
Read again. Make time to read your bible or any other spiritual literature so that the words on the pages can soothe your hurting place like honey! Allow the truth to penetrate the hurting place and use it as healing ointment! What can you start to read?
3.) Be expectant to hear from the Holy Spirit!
The Holy Spirit wants to speak with you! The Holy Spirit wants to guide and direct your life and get YOU in touch with the people, places, and things that will help you on your healing journey! The healing of your hurting place! Will you join?
4.) Keep a notebook in your car and nightstand!
I love getting little messages from the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit wants to speak to you! It is hard to remember everything in our heads! So, when something feels like a message, WRITE IT DOWN! Will you listen to the Holy Spirit's messages today?
5.) Keep a journal around the house!
Just like what is mentioned in number 4! The practice of writing can help you in your day-to-day to hear from the Holy Spirit as HEALER. Keep the connection open with your writing. You will get the message and understanding that you need! Will you buy a journal today?
6.) Calm your mind with meditation and or yoga.
Studies show that our brain waves change and become more calm when we focus on our breathing! All of the chatter that wants to keep us stuck and in a loop can unravel! Can you sit for 3 minutes and listen to your breath? Try it!
7.) BELIEVE!
Believe that the Holy Spirit wants to guide you in a life of healing and being in a relationship with him! We need to keep our faith muscle strong! What will it take to believe that living a life of ALIVENESS is OK?
8.) **BONUS** Take Action
We must take action as to how the Holy Spirit guides and directs. It serves no purpose to listen to him and do nothing with the information it is that he shares with us. What will you take action on today?
I struggle with #7 all. of. the. time!
